Rajesh Sehgal joined the emerging markets group of Franklin Templeton in 1999. He has research responsibilities for companies in South Asia, Africa and the Middle East and is involved with both listed as well as unlisted investments across emerging markets. Prior to joining Franklin Templeton, Mr. Sehgal worked with SBI Capital Markets Limited as the manager of the Treasury & Investments Group.
Mr. Sehgal is a Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania alumni. He has earlier earned an M.B.A. in business management with specialization in finance and marketing from XLRI (India) and a B.S. with specialization in physics from Mumbai University. He has also earned a postgraduate diploma in securities law from the Government Law College in Mumbai and has been awarded the International Capital Markets Qualification by the Securities Institute, London. Mr. Sehgal is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder. He has authored books for Dun & Bradstreet Financial Education Services, the Training Institute of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BTI) and the Indian Institute of Bankers (IIB) on various capital market related topics. He is deeply involved with the startup ecosystem since 2007 being an active angel investor with a diversified portfolio and an active charter member of TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs).He loves playing golf for leisure.
